Shah & Shah Advocates (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our WhatsApp number, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Consultation requests (website form or WhatsApp): your name, phone number, email if you give it, the type of matter, a short description, and your preferred date and time.
- WhatsApp messages you send to +91 99097 21997: your number, your WhatsApp profile name, and the messages and choices you send. We do not store photos or files you send.
- Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop spam on our forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange, confirm, change or cancel a consultation.
- To send messages you have asked for, such as booking confirmations and hearing reminders.
- If you become our client, to act on your matter and meet our professional and legal duties.
- To keep this website and our services secure.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers that run our systems for us, under their own privacy and security terms: Google Cloud (hosting; servers may be outside India), Meta (WhatsApp messaging) and Cloudflare (spam protection on our forms). We also share information where the law, a court or a regulator requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become a matter: up to 2 years from the last contact.
- A declined website consultation request: name and email removed after 90 days.
- Client and case records: kept as long as our professional and legal obligations require.
- Spam-protection data: 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- Stop WhatsApp messages: send STOP to +91 99097 21997. Send START to receive them again.
- Access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent: write to us at the email below. We will reply within 30 days. Some records we must keep by law; we will tell you if that applies.
- Complaints: contact us first. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Data deletion requests
To ask us to delete the information we hold about you, including anything received through WhatsApp, email shahandshahlegal@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and the phone number you used. We will confirm once it is done.
Security
Our systems use encrypted connections, access limited to authorised staff, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
